Special thanks to the Ramona Old West Days team and the The Guns of the Round Table who team together to make this event possible.
RAMONA OLD WEST DAYS COMMITTEE
Ramona Old West Days is a committee of Ramona citizens, led by Jim Cooper and Steve Johnson, who perform the administrative work to host and promote the Ramona Old West Days. Ramona Old West Days began in 2012 as a collaboration with the Ramona Bluegrass Festival, and then evolved into a two day event focusing on the educational opportunity for local school children. While this educational focus remains primary, Ramona Old West Days has expanded further into a premier event for mountain man encampers, western reenactment groups and 1800’s period vendors.
GUNS OF THE ROUND TABLE
The Guns of the Round Table, locally based out of Lakeside, California, is a Gun Fighting and Living History Re-enactment Group. Formed by like minded friends in order to promote public education of life between 1870 to 1890, they present life in the Old West Cow Towns as well as situations encountered while traveling across country. The group covers gun fights, dramatic life situations and gun safety in hope to educate the public, especially children to understand the importance of gun safety. We also present open encampment to show how a family would live temporarily, while their new home is being built, along with the rougher side of the cowboy way of living. Our Camp demonstrations include Laundry, Whip Skills, Roping, Butter Churning, Apple Peeling as well as period toys and Tug-O-War, alone with various different types of animal hides. On a simpler side we are an award winning group, that just loves to get dressed up, shoot, fall down and play dead.
